The Artist Farm is a company dedicated to exploring music, business and life.

Life.  At the end of the day, the heartbeat of civilization comes down to the individual.  Civilization is simply an aggregate of all us individuals.  If you want to change the world you start with one – you.  We are interested in awakening and empowering individuals and exploring how that relates to civilization and nature.

Music is an ancient and powerful form of communication that dates back at least to 7000 BC (reference).  In many ways music is more powerful than spoken word because it is not inhibited by definitions of words.  Music is sound that communicates directly to an individual’s soul in a certain way.  The person then feels a certain way when the music hits them.  The communication is based on feeling rather than rigid definitions.  In this way, music is communicating directly to the subconscious – to your soul.  The right music can soothe your soul when you are feeling down, transport you to other worlds when you hear exotic instruments and rhythms and move you to dance when the right beat comes into you.    Music is deeper and more real to the human experience than business, money or any man made creation.  We are interested in the relationship between man and music and what it means for society.

Business is nothing more than a collection of individuals engaged in a specific form of commerce.  We imagine a world where each individual in that collection is fully activated in their potential.  If each person is fully alive in their work then the work and the individual are one and the same.  In this case the business is a structure, a system designed to educate, mentor and empower each individual.  It is a living entity capable of growing and changing just like the individual members that comprise it.  We are interested in growing a business that is alive and powerful, and organized for common good and exploring ways that this relates to all businesses in society.

Bio:

At the start of 2008, Michael Allenby and Ben Coe founded THE ARTIST FARM on the principle that, at its core, artist management should be about clearly defined systems of operation and clear communication. The central system to THE ARTIST FARM operations focuses on maximizing exposure and sales of every show through relationships with promoters, media, and the fan community (and you can read more about it in our free e-book).  Prior to founding The Artist Farm, both Michael and Ben worked at industry giant, Red Light Management.  The founding partners for THE ARTIST FARM have over 25 years of combined industry experience including: artist management, concert promotion, college booking, box office software development, and business management (accounting).
