Thanks Greg. Yes, that whole site is loaded with great content.

Josh~ I didn't know that but it doesn't surprise me. I recall reading that even in the 1960s, the Grateful Dead and other bands were used to performing for free and the "fans" watched for free (in parks, etc). They didn't start playing to make money. That only came later as the scene developed.

Chris B~ It could definitely go on the other site as well. Generally I'll be putting music specific content on here. I'm still playing around with how the separation will go. Thanks for the thoughts.

Thanks for sharing this video. Very thought-provoking.
The stories could be seen as a metaphors for life in general.
Industrial and now digital ages have structured everything.
Life is now a performance. Certainly work is.
The gap between the work you and other you(s).
250 years ago there was no gap! (Its now very schizophrenic).
We have forgotten how to just be in the now (or have we had it taken away)
We are afraid to just to bring ourselves or have been conditioned to think we are not 'allowed' to.
Perhaps this is really something for your other site - Ben

Hey Ben,
Great video, I was actually reading about how music performance/concerts are a (relativaly) modern idea from around the 1600s, it was only then that there became an expectation of quiteness etc. during performance; before which it was a social event where people would talk play cards and have a good time. Its funny because this is exactly what music has become again when we head to the pub to enjoy a drink with friends while listening to the music also. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense I'm still reading up on the subject (so good timing I guess).

Anyway thanks for think I really enjoyed it and found a site full of interesting content... Cheers!
